Proofreader / Digital Publishing Assistant (Contract)

0.6 FTE | $60–$70 p/h + super

About the Opportunity:
We’re looking for a highly detail‑oriented Proofreader / Digital Publishing Assistant to support the production and online publication of Parliamentary audit reports and related digital content.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a deadline‑driven environment and has a passion for accuracy, accessibility and high‑quality editorial standards.

What You’ll Do

• Proofread and undertake light copyediting of long‑form reports and supporting documents
• Upload and publish content to the website using a CMS
• Create fully accessible PDFs following accessibility best‑practice
• Work closely with publishing and communications teams to meet tight deadlines

What You’ll Bring

• Strong experience applying editorial style guides
• Exceptional proofreading skills with long and complex documents
• Knowledge of HTML and content management systems
• Ability to manage competing priorities under pressure
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and accessibility

Technical Skills Required:

• Microsoft Word
• Microsoft Teams
• Adobe Acrobat Pro
• Website CMS

Desirable:

• Microsoft Excel (charts)
• Adobe Photoshop
• Adobe Illustrator
• Adobe InDesign
• Mailchimp
