We are currently recruiting for a Project Scheduler
to join a Local Council in Sydney. This is a contract role starting ASAP and running until 10 April 2026, offering 38 hours per week (Monday to Friday). Flexible working arrangements including WFH are TBC. The pay rate is $80–$95 per hour + super (PAYG) or $89.60–$106.40 per hour (ABN).
The Project Scheduler will support the delivery of capital projects listed in the One Year Operational Plan and Four Year Delivery Plan, as well as ad hoc projects initiated throughout the year. The role is pivotal in maintaining integrated master schedules, reporting progress, and supporting project teams with planning and scheduling expertise.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop, maintain, and review project, program, and portfolio schedules using MS Project and an Integrated Master Scheduling tool (IMS)
- Coordinate with program teams to ensure accurate schedule updates and portfolio status
- Produce reports tracking progress against baselines and milestones to support decision-making and risk management
- Present baseline schedules, identify critical paths, and ensure adherence to standards
- Provide guidance and coaching to project managers on schedule development and maintenance
- Monitor schedule baselines, report variances, and assess associated risks
Candidate Requirements
- 3–5 years’ experience in a planning/scheduling role
- Degree-level qualification in Engineering, Construction, Project Management, Estimating, or similar
- Proven experience in scheduling and tracking multiple construction projects
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Project
- Strong understanding of master schedule creation and maintenance
- Excellent interpersonal skills and experience delivering training and working collaboratively across teams
- Knowledge of budgeting, accounting, financial, and procurement processes in Local Government
- Experience using Microsoft Power BI
