Project Officer – Asset Management & Infrastructure Projects
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Project Officer
– Capital Projects, Level 5
to join our client’s team on a long-term assignment supporting a range of assets.
This position is offered initially through to 30 June 2026, with strong potential for multiple extensions of up to 2.5 years.
The role will involve working across several locations as needed.
While prior experience in the public sector is highly regarded, it is not essential.
Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination & Delivery
- Provide comprehensive project management assistance including preparing reports, drafting briefs, scheduling resources, and managing project documentation
- Establish, support, and coordinate stakeholder working groups comprising both internal and external representatives
- Develop, track, and maintain project materials for reporting, monitoring and evaluation
- Ensure projects are delivered within agreed timelines, budgets, quality expectations, and scope, following established project management frameworks
- Support internal staff with matters relating to land acquisition and disposal, contributing to effective planning and service delivery
- Conduct research and analysis on project-related issues, including identifying suitable land for new or replacement buildings
- Lead and negotiate contracts with government agencies and private sector developers for land transactions and new infrastructure builds
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal employees, volunteers, and key external stakeholders
- Provide advice to team members on matters relating to information resources
- Prepare and present information to varied audiences in a clear and engaging manner
Other Responsibilities
- Report on operational and legislative information matters as required
- Actively contribute to working groups, committees, and reference groups
- Identify and report workplace hazards, near misses, and safety incidents
- Participate in risk management activities and help promote a safe and healthy workplace for all
