About the Role:
A Local Council within Melbourne’s northern region is seeking an experienced Project Manager
to manage a diverse portfolio of open space and landscape projects
from planning and design through to construction and handover.
This full‑time, short‑term assignment runs until September 2026, offering an excellent opportunity to deliver meaningful public‑realm improvements for the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage open space and landscape projects across all stages, including planning, design development, procurement, construction and final handover.
- Prepare and oversee project schedules to ensure timely and successful delivery of outcomes.
- Supervise contractors and consultants, ensuring compliance with Council policies, including
- Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO)
- Occupational Health & Safety (OHS)
- Training and development requirements
- Provide technical advice across multiple disciplines, including landscape architecture, civil design, horticulture, traffic considerations, asset management and construction.
- Manage tenders, specifications, cost estimates and contract administration.
- Monitor project budgets, risks and milestones.
- Ensure high‑quality project documentation and reporting.
- Demonstrated experience in project management of open space, landscape or civil infrastructure projects.
- Proven ability to supervise contractors and consultants effectively.
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation, standards and Council processes.
- Experience developing effective and realistic project schedules.

- Traffic/transport interface
- Project Management
- Estimating
- Specifications & Tenders
- Contract Administration
- Construction Supervision
- Asset Management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
