About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated Project Lead with expertise in control systems and automation to deliver a portfolio of sustaining capital projects. Based in Brisbane, the role covers all phases of the project lifecycle, from early studies through to execution - and includes occasional travel to operational sites. This position is offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract, with the potential for extension based on project needs and performance. You’ll manage engineering service providers, prepare scopes of work, review technical deliverables, and engage with stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead control systems projects through study and execution phases
  • Apply project frameworks and assurance processes
  • Review contractor deliverables for compliance with scope and standards
  • Develop cost estimates, manage budgets, and maintain schedules
  • Prepare scopes of work and support tender evaluations
  • Identify scope changes and prepare business cases for funding
About You
  • Experience in control systems and instrumentation design and installation
  • Familiarity with PLC/DCS platforms (Rockwell, Schneider, Honeywell highly regarded)
  • Knowledge of Australian Standards and relevant legislation
  • Strong communication skills—written and verbal
  • Experience with FAT and SAT testing
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and respond to technical/commercial challenges
  • Comfortable working independently with support from peers and leaders
  • Willingness to travel to operational sites within Australia
