We’re seeking a strategic and results-driven Program Director to lead one of the Department’s largest business transformation initiatives – the Portfolio and Financial Management Improvement (PFMI) Program. This is a high-impact role where you’ll shape governance, financial management, and portfolio performance practices across Queensland’s education infrastructure.
You’ll be part of a forward-thinking division responsible for managing a $40 billion asset base and delivering a $2 billion annual capital works program. This program is critical to uplifting infrastructure management maturity and ensuring long-term success.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Providing strategic leadership and vision for the PFMI Program, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.
- Overseeing delivery of multiple interrelated projects, including portfolio governance, P3O model establishment, and capital financial management improvements.
- Driving change management strategies and organisational readiness for program outcomes.
- Managing program governance, risk, and financial performance to ensure milestones are met on time and within budget.
- Leading and mentoring a high-performing team of project managers, analysts, and subject matter experts.
About You:
You’re an experienced senior leader with a proven track record in delivering complex programs within large organisations. You bring strong strategic thinking, stakeholder engagement skills, and a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
You’ll bring:
- Extensive experience in infrastructure portfolio/program/project management or capital financial management.
- Demonstrated success in leading business transformation programs.
- Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to inspire teams and drive accountability.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills across all levels.
- Experience in government or large-scale infrastructure environments (highly regarded).
