About the role:
This Agency is looking for an experienced Product Manager to help design, improve and deliver digital products and services that meet user needs. In this role, the Product Manager works closely with User Researchers and a wider delivery team to decide what features should be built first and ensure the product provides real value.
The Product Manager works under broad direction and handles complex tasks within a large, integrated team. The role requires a solid understanding of relevant laws, government processes and internal policies. The successful candidate must be able to work independently, make sound decisions and provide expert advice when needed.
The Product Manager is responsible for developing, implementing and reviewing product management processes to ensure work is delivered effectively. The role involves complex problem-solving, managing risks and dealing with issues that can affect strategic or operational outcomes. The Product Manager may also oversee sensitive projects and work closely with stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with User Researchers and the delivery team to understand user needs and decide which product features should be built or improved first.
- Lead the planning and delivery of digital products and services, ensuring they provide real value to users.
- Make informed decisions and provide expert advice while working under broad direction with a high level of independence.
- Apply a solid understanding of laws, government processes and internal policies to guide product development.
- Develop, implement and review product management processes to support effective and compliant delivery.
- Solve complex problems, manage risks and handle issues that may impact strategic, operational or organisational outcomes.
- Oversee sensitive projects and ensure all work aligns with organisational goals and requirements.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to support successful delivery and maintain strong working relationships.
Skills and Experience Needed:
- You will have experience delivering technology products in large organisations, with a strong understanding of good product management practices and effective product development methods.
- You will have a solid understanding of what makes a great experience for both internal and external users and know how to gather and use user feedback to improve future services.
- You will have experience leading multi-disciplinary teams that use agile and user-centred design approaches, while working closely with stakeholders to support successful delivery.
