PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST – MINING

• Contract: 12-month contract
• Start Date: Early  January 2026
• Location: Perth CBD
• Rate:  $70 per hour plus Superannuation
• Hours: 40 hours per week

About the Opportunity Join a leading mining organisation on a 12-month contract as a Procurement Specialist supporting both strategic and day-to-day procurement operations. This role offers the chance to contribute to long-term sourcing plans, manage tenders, assess market opportunities, and improve supplier performance across diverse and essential categories.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day procurement activities
• Develop and maintain 3-year sourcing plans
• Conduct market analysis and identify supply opportunities
• Lead and support tender processes
• Oversee contract performance management
• Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with procurement processes and governance
• Adapt quickly to new tasks, categories, and systems

Categories & Commodities Experience across the following areas is beneficial:

• Inventory / stock-coded products
• Industrial hardware and electrical supplies
• Industrial gases and LPG
• Fabrication contractors
• Spare parts for site maintenance and stores

Skills & Experience

• 3–5 years’ experience in procurement (mining experience not required)
• Strong strategic and operational procurement capability
• Proven experience leading tenders and managing contracts end to end
• Strong commercial acumen with effective negotiation skills
• Analytical mindset with high attention to detail
• Excellent stakeholder and supplier relationship management skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities autonomously across varied categories
• Experience using Oracle and Ariba
• Tertiary qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance, Commerce, or similar (desirable)
• Mining or refining experience advantageous but not essential
