Chandler Macleod is recruiting for our client, seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to play a key role in establishing and managing procurement activities.
To be suitable for the role you will have:
- Proven experience managing complex procurement projects and programs, including contract development, evaluation, and compliance.
- Solid understanding of government procurement policies, particularly the Commonwealth Procurement Rules.
- Familiarity with government contracting platforms such as Panel Orders, Requests for Quote, Contracting Suite, and in-house departmental contracts.
- Strong ability to interpret and apply procurement legislation, including PGPA Act and CPRs, ensuring high standards of probity and ethical practice.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal teams, legal, finance, scientific, and external agencies.
- Experience in managing contract issues related to intellectual property, licenses, personnel, Indigenous procurement policies, and conflict of interest.
- Proficiency with procurement and financial management tools such as SAP, Concur, and Altus.
- Demonstrated program management and workflow improvement skills, with strategic thinking beyond routine procedures.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating resilience, adaptability, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Hold or be able to obtain a Baseline security clearance.
- Prior experience within public health or scientific environments.
- Knowledge of communicable disease prevention and control.
- Familiarity with procurement in research, licensing, data sharing, or related fields.
- Mentoring capabilities to guide internal stakeholders through procurement phases.
- Experience managing procurement for government panels or multi-stakeholder programs.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in management, public administration, law, or related fields.
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience in procurement, program management, or related roles within government or large organizations.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to start in mid-December 2025
