An opportunity is available for an experienced Procurement Manager – Compliance & Governance
to support and strengthen procurement governance, compliance frameworks, and best-practice processes within a complex public-sector environment.
This short-term engagement is suited to a procurement professional with strong Victorian Government compliance and governance expertise, who can step in quickly and add value.
About the Role
Reporting to senior leadership, you will be responsible for overseeing procurement governance, compliance, and probity functions, ensuring procurement activity aligns with legislative and policy requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading procurement compliance, governance, and probity frameworks
- Ensuring procurement activities comply with the Victorian Government Purchasing Board (VGPB) policies and the Ministerial Directions for Public Construction Procurement (MDPCP)
- Reviewing and uplifting procurement policies, procedures, and templates
- Providing expert advice on complex, high-risk, and public construction procurement
- Supporting audits, compliance reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Providing guidance and coaching to internal stakeholders
- Partnering with operational procurement teams to embed best practice and compliance
- Demonstrated hands-on experience working under VGPB policies
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with the Ministerial Directions for Public Construction Procurement (MDPCP)
- Proven procurement compliance and governance experience within Victorian Government, local government, or similarly regulated public-sector environments
- Strong understanding of procurement legislation, probity, and audit requirements
About You
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in procurement, with a strong focus on compliance and governance
- Confident adviser able to provide guidance on complex procurement matters
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including influencing senior leaders
- Detail-focused, pragmatic, and able to operate effectively in short-term engagements
- $55–$60 per hour + super, depending on experience
- 3-month contract
- Melbourne-based with hybrid working available
