About the role
- Lead the critical procurement portfolio ensuring compliance, efficiency, and risk mitigation across the department.
- Assess procurement risks and identify shortfalls, developing strategic recommendations for organisational improvement.
- Provide expert advice on procurement best practices, standards, and controls to senior leadership.
- Collaborate with various teams to embed procurement integrity and operational excellence.
- Leverage SME expertise to influence procurement strategy and policy.
- 6-month contract with potential extension, located in Berrinba with flexible work-from-home arrangements after onboarding.
What we are looking for
- Proven procurement SME with strong technical expertise and leadership capabilities.
- Experience in risk assessment, compliance monitoring, and strategic procurement planning.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, able to provide clear recommendations to executive levels.
- Ability to quickly assess procurement risks and develop actionable solutions.
- Previous experience at A08 level or higher, with readiness for a step-up into a director role.
Nice to Have Skills
- Knowledge of government or public sector procurement standards.
- Experience in managing procurement portfolios within a large organisation.
- Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CSCP).
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of procurement experience, with demonstrated leadership in risk and compliance management.
Other Requirements
- Must be eligible to work in Australia (Australian citizen, permanent resident, or hold appropriate work visa).
- Ability to work effectively in a flexible location and adapt to a dynamic environment.
