Procurement and Contracts Manager
 
Location: Canberra, ACT, Cairns QLD or Townsville, QLD
Classification: APS6 and APS5 equivalent roles available
Contract: 6 months assignment 
 
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Procurement and Contracts Manager to lead and manage procurement and contracting activities within the Technology and Digital Services (TaDS) team. This role is pivotal in ensuring value for money, compliance with procurement frameworks, and supporting strategic objectives.
 
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor the Procurement and Contracts Support Officer.
  • Manage complex contracts across the organisation, ensuring compliance and value for money.
  • Develop and review contract documentation including agreements, risk plans, variations, and related correspondence.
  • Collaborate with Finance and internal stakeholders to achieve deliverables.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external vendors and partners.
  • Provide expert advice on procurement and contract issues to management.
 
About You
You are agile, collaborative, and thrive in a dynamic environment. You demonstrate leadership at all levels and have strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
 
Essential Requirements:
  • Australian citizenship and ability to obtain a Baseline security clearance.
  • Proven experience in end-to-end contract management and sourcing.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013
    • Commonwealth Procurement Framework and Rules
    • Digital Sourcing Framework
  • Ability to provide accurate technical advice and manage complex issues under pressure.
Desirable:
  • Certificate IV in Government Procurement and Contracting (or higher).
  • Experience with risk management in complex environments.
