- Location: Collie, WA
- Roster: 9-day fortnight (alternate Friday RDO), 40-hour week
- Contract Duration: Until 30 June 2026
- Start Date: 1st January 2026 (or around that date)
- Rate:$90–$95/hr depending on experience
As a Senior Advisor in Process Safety, you will lead and support complex safety programs across capital projects and operational activities. You will ensure compliance with process safety standards, conduct detailed risk assessments, and champion proactive safety management. This high-impact role requires strong technical expertise, excellent stakeholder engagement, and a hands-on approach to managing process risks in a dynamic industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities – Process Safety
- Lead, facilitate, and participate in Process Hazard Analyses (HAZOP, HAZID, LOPA, PHA) for refinery and power generation operations.
- Develop, update, and implement risk management frameworks for high-risk processes including chemical handling, high-pressure digestion, boilers, and steam turbines.
- Maintain, review, and integrate Process Safety Information (PSI) into operating and maintenance procedures.
- Oversee design, implementation, and monitoring of critical safety systems such as pressure relief, emergency shutdown, and fire protection systems.
- Lead or support incident investigations using root cause analysis (RCA, ICAM) and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, internal process safety standards, and industry best practices.
- Promote a proactive safety culture, delivering training and coaching to operational teams.
- Drive continuous improvement in process safety performance and embed lessons learned across operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Safety Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years’ experience in process safety, risk management, or industrial safety in chemical processing or heavy industry.
- Skilled in HAZOP, LOPA, PHA, and process safety management frameworks.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and collaborative problem-solving skills.
