We are seeking a Portfolio Prioritisation Specialist
to join a major Government business change program, contributing to a high-impact initiative that will shape how critical infrastructure investments are planned and delivered.
The Role
Reporting to the Project Manager, this role will support the design and implementation of a Portfolio Prioritisation Framework. You will provide subject matter expertise to strengthen investment planning and decision-making processes across a large infrastructure portfolio.
Working with senior leaders and project teams, you will help define prioritisation criteria, embed evidence-based practices, and develop tools and guidance to build capability and ensure consistent application of the framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of a Portfolio Prioritisation Framework to guide strategic investment decisions.
- Provide expert advice on portfolio governance, investment planning, and prioritisation practices.
- Facilitate workshops, briefings, and consultations with executives and stakeholders to drive adoption and alignment.
- Develop supporting tools, templates, and documentation to strengthen consistency and transparency.
- Collaborate with project teams (change managers, business analysts, PMO) to ensure frameworks and processes are embedded effectively.
- Contribute to improved portfolio governance, assurance, and reporting standards.
- Strong background in portfolio management, infrastructure planning, or investment prioritisation.
- Proven experience engaging with senior stakeholders and providing authoritative advice.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex frameworks into clear, actionable guidance.
- Experience in government, infrastructure investment planning, or large-scale transformation programs highly desirable.
- Qualifications in Asset Management, Project Management, Business, Economics, or related disciplines will be highly regarded.
- A robust, transparent framework to prioritise funding decisions.
- Improved maturity of investment planning and decision-making processes.
- Enhanced capability within the organisation to understand and apply portfolio prioritisation principles.
- Greater confidence, clarity, and governance in the delivery of strategic objectives.
