About the Role
Lead the development, integration, and optimisation of complex capital project schedules across a large infrastructure portfolio. Drive strategic planning across 1-, 4-, and 10-year horizons and uplift organisational scheduling capability to enable better decision-making and performance outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain an integrated master portfolio schedule for all capital projects.
- Establish consistent scheduling frameworks, tools, and practices across capital works programs.
- Coordinate planning of project and proposal pipelines aligned to strategic priorities.
- Prepare forward-looking capital works pipeline reporting, including funding requirements.
- Build and lead organisational scheduling capability through coaching and development.
- Identify schedule risks, resource conflicts, and delivery slippages to support proactive management.
- Deliver integrated dashboards and reports (e.g. Power BI) connecting schedule, performance, and pipeline data.
- Conduct schedule-based risk analysis, including Monte Carlo simulations to inform P50–P90 estimates.
- Guide contingency planning and cost forecasting using schedule analysis and cost phasing.
- Represent the PMO in cross-functional forums and provide expert scheduling insights.
- Degree/diploma in engineering, construction, project management, or related field.
- Significant experience in project and portfolio scheduling within public sector or capital works environments.
- Advanced expertise in Microsoft Project and Excel (mandatory).
- Strong knowledge of CPM, dependency management, Earned Value Management, and Monte Carlo analysis.
- Experience integrating multiple schedules into a master program view.
- Proven experience delivering schedule-driven reporting and dashboards (Power BI, etc.).
- Ability to coach and uplift organisational scheduling and project controls capability.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Certifications such as PMP, PMI-SP or MSP highly regarded.
- Influence capital investment scheduling at a portfolio level
- Work with an organisation investing heavily in its community infrastructure
- Lead schedule governance and bring enterprise-level visibility to decision-makers
