Hybrid: 50/50 after initial training

A large, nationally recognised organisation is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer with Chris21 expertise to join their payroll team on a 3-month contract. This is a great opportunity to work within a supportive team environment, with hybrid flexibility and exposure to a complex payroll function.
About the RoleWorking within an experienced payroll team, you’ll be responsible for end-to-end payroll processing across two business areas. While each area has its own requirements, there are shared processes and strong collaboration across the team.
You’ll complete 2–3 weeks of onsite training, before transitioning to a 50/50 hybrid working arrangement.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-end payroll processing using Chris21
• Maintain accurate employee records and payroll data
• Process manual timesheets, allowances and adjustments
• Support travel and expense claim administration
• Ensure compliance with awards, legislation and internal policies
• Respond to payroll enquiries with a strong customer service focus
• Work collaboratively across multiple payroll streams
• Contribute to continuous improvement and data integrity

About You

Essential Requirements

• Minimum 1 year hands-on experience using Chris21
• Payroll or HR administration experience in a large or complex organisation
• Strong Excel skills
• Sound understanding of employee entitlements, awards and industrial instruments
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Clear communication skills and a customer-focused approach

Desirable Experience

• Exposure to TMS rostering systems
• Experience in high-volume payroll environments
• Background in transport, logistics, infrastructure or similar industries
