About the opportunity

Work in the beautiful Port Stephens region in a role that gets you out of the office!

We are seeking a dyamic person to support Parking Officer duties during the peak holiday period. This role is expected to commence ASAP and will run through February, with the possibility of extension for the right person.

Core hours: 35 hours a week on a 7 day rotating roster – will be required to work a lot of weekends so must be available across all days of the week
Location: Starting from the administration office in Raymond Terrace, then will go out into the LGA in the Council vehicle
The successful candidate will work alongside another Parking Officer or Ranger to ensure safety and effective service delivery.
Skillset Sought

  •     Drivers license (Class C)
  •     Demonstrable experience working within an enforcement/compliance role, particularly within specialised and regulatory industry practices
  •     Demonstrable experience communicating positively to customers, stakeholders and community groups
  •     Ability to problem solve and resolve conflict
  •     High levels of resilience
  •     Comfortable to work outdoors and on your feet in all weather conditions
Duties
  • Conducting regular patrols and inspections. This may include; parking meters, commercial zones, residential parking areas, disabled parking areas, Council car parks, on foot or in Council vehicle
  • Enaging with members of the public 
  • Investigating parking complaints, issuing warnings, cautions, or infringements under applicable legislation.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team.
  • Effective high level customer service.
This role would suit someone with a background in enforcement, policy implementation/compliance or policing (or similar).
