Are you ready to lead one of Western Australia’s most significant environmental assessment programs on a 6 month temporary assignment? We’re seeking an experienced EIA Manager to drive the strategic planning, coordination, and quality delivery of the Outer Harbour Project Development (OHPD) Environmental Impact Assessment.
About the Role
As the OHPD EIA Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring all environmental approvals for the project are delivered to the highest standard. This includes oversight of assessments under the EP Act, EPBC Act, and Sea Dumping Act, while managing complex interfaces across design, modelling, heritage, sustainability, and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategic planning and coordination for all OHPD environmental approvals
- Provide oversight and quality assurance for environmental consultants delivering statutory submissions, technical studies, and supporting documentation
- Track deliverables for quality, completeness, and timeliness; identify risks and resolve issues
- Coordinate the development and delivery of the Sea Dumping Permit, including multi-criteria analysis and regulator engagement
- Maintain an integrated approvals schedule aligned with the Westport Stage 4 Master Schedule
- Facilitate internal and external engagement, including regulator meetings, technical workshops, and governance briefings
- Supervise and provide QA direction to the EIA Support Officer
- Strong background in environmental approvals and impact assessment for major infrastructure projects
- Proven ability to manage complex interfaces and dependencies across technical disciplines
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, including experience with regulators and government agencies
- Strategic thinker with excellent coordination and reporting capabilities
This role does not involve authoring statutory EIA documentation, leading non-OHPD approvals, public/media spokesperson duties, or procurement outside consultant delivery scope
