Mining Engineer – Open Pit | FIFO 8/6 | Tier 1 Contractor | Pilbara

Are you a skilled  Mining Engineer  with a passion for delivering and executing mine plans in large-scale open pit operations? We’re currently seeking a motivated professional to join a  Tier 1 mining contractor  on a  7-month contract  in the  Pilbara region, working on an  8/6 FIFO roster  from  Perth, Busselton, or Broome.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage  daily to weekly mine plans  aligned with quarterly development milestones.
• Lead  drill & blast scheduling, ensuring safe and efficient execution.
• Perform  ad hoc mine design work  as required, including ramps, dumps, and pit modifications.
• Collaborate with operations and technical teams to ensure plans are practical and achievable.
• Use  Vulcan mine design software  to produce accurate and timely designs and schedules.

About You:

• Proven experience in  daily planning and scheduling  within large open pit environments.
• Strong background in  drill & blast engineering  and execution.
• Proficient in  Vulcan  mine design software (essential).
• Able to work autonomously and deliver high-quality mine plans under tight timelines.
• Manual driver’s license (preferred).
• Comfortable with FIFO lifestyle and working in remote environments.
