Mechanical Engineer

📍 Onsite | 5/2 Roster (min. 4 days/week)

We’re seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support engineering governance and site operations for a major client in the Bowen Basin. Working closely with the G&TS Principal Engineer (Mechanical Statutory), you’ll ensure mechanical systems are safe, compliant, and effective across site assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead MoC reviews and mechanical document control
• Conduct technical reviews of mechanical designs and drawings
• Provide guidance on mechanical standards and risk controls (e.g. dropped objects, stored energy)
• Support incident investigations, risk assessments, and MEM processes
• Participate in BOS, safety meetings, and hazard identification activities

Skills & Experience

• Tertiary Mechanical Engineering qualification (trade or university)
• 5+ years’ mining experience
• Underground and MEM experience (highly regarded)
• Competent in SAP, Fiori, FLEX, Meridian, and MS Office

Preferred

• Coal mining background
• Able to work underground and be appointed as a supervisor
