About the Role
On behalf of our client, Rio Tinto, we are seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner
to join their Port & Coastal Engineering (Marine) Team
at Cape Lambert Port. This is a key role focused on planning and scheduling maintenance activities for critical marine infrastructure assets, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations.
Reporting to the Senior Port Engineer, you will be responsible for developing executable maintenance plans, coordinating resources, and supporting long-term asset reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage executable maintenance plans aligned with asset strategies and condition.
- Ensure accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and parts availability for scheduled work.
- Participate in Zero-Based Budgeting (ZBB) and master-data improvement workshops.
- Drive cost leadership and maintain spend hygiene.
- Collaborate with contractor supervisors to optimise planning and scheduling.
- Analyse work orders, troubleshoot challenges, and improve planning efficiency.
- Monitor planned vs actual spend, document variances, and implement improvement actions.
- Maintain strong relationships with external contractor partners.
- Review material availability and refurbishment requirements.
- Prepare weekly maintenance schedules and identify critical issues such as approvals and lead times.
- Reschedule incomplete tasks and manage contractor commitments, including invoicing and payments.
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings to prioritise work orders and plan for plant shutdowns.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Proven experience in maintenance planning for fixed plant assets.
- Proficiency in SAP, MS Office, and Prometheus.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Knowledge of the Work Management Process (identify, plan, schedule, perform, record, analyse).
- A process-driven mindset and ability to work in a dynamic environment.
- Current C Class driver’s licence.
Preferred
- Trade background or tertiary qualifications
- Proficiency in Prometheus.
- Exposure to marine or port environments.
- Residential in Wickham or Karratha.
