Our client is seeking a reliable and hands-on Maintenance Officer
for an ongoing casual role working three days per week. This role supports the delivery of safe, comfortable, and well-maintained facilities for residents, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general maintenance duties across facilities, including planned, responsive, and emergency repairs
- Carry out preventative maintenance activities and assist with maintenance scheduling
- Action and close out maintenance requests using online systems and maintain accurate documentation
- Undertake general repairs including carpentry, painting, plaster patching, minor plumbing and electrical work
- Assist with furniture and equipment movements, set-ups, and relocation
- Support refurbishments and construction-related works within residential and independent living facilities
- Maintain tools, equipment, machinery, and vehicles in safe working order
- Assist with inspections, condition reporting, asset registers, and equipment audits
- Coordinate and work with external contractors where required
- Provide professional, respectful, and courteous service to residents, families, and visitors
- Participate in team meetings, training, and ongoing development activities
- Demonstrated experience in general hand, power and construction tools to a reasonable level
- Excellent time management skills
- Aptitude in exercising initiative, problem solving and working independently and efficiently with limited supervision towards the achievement of agreed objectives in line with operational requirements
- Good communication skills and ability to build and maintain relationships
- Competent knowledge and ability to use the Microsoft Office Suite and ability to work with facilities/asset management systems and technologies
- Good understanding of Work Health and Safety principles and practices
- Current Class C Drivers Licence is essential
- National police check and NDISWC required prior to engagement
