Machine Operator - Excavator/Front End Loader

About the role
Based at our Hemmant site, the Excavator/Front End Loader Operator will perform a range of operating duties within the scrap metal yard. This is a full-time equivalent role with a preference (subject to performance) onboarding to a permanent position with on-the-job training provided and excellent opportunities for career progression.

Pay rate for this role is $41 per hour plus overtime paid at penalty rates.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Loading and unloading trucks and shipping containers
• Emptying trucks - dragging out the back of a tipper
• Loading metal objects of various size onto conveyor to be processed through the shredder
• Adhering to workplace safety procedures at all times
• Maintaining cleanliness in the yard and operational areas

• Knowledge of various excavator attachments and magnets
• Experience operating an excavator and Front End Loader and maneuvering around a busy environment
• Experience in scrap recycling, construction or manufacturing is highly advantageous
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced yard environment
• A positive mindset with a general willingness to learn
• Passion for working as part of a collaborative team
