Lead Design Manager

Location: Adelaide CBD
Work Type: 12-Month Contract | Casual | Competitive Hourly Rate

Drive excellence in engineering design, leadership, and delivery for complex infrastructure and dam projects. This is a rare opportunity for an experienced Lead Design Manager to guide a talented team and oversee major multidisciplinary projects that shape South Australia’s sustainable future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of Design Managers to deliver high-quality, technically sound design solutions.
  • Oversee multidisciplinary engineering projects, with a focus on geotechnical and seismic risk management.
  • Manage design review, quality assurance, and adherence to Safety in Design principles.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
  • Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and best practice across engineering standards and systems.
About You
To excel in this role, you will bring:
  • Degree qualification in Engineering (B.Eng or equivalent) – Essential.
  • Proven experience in engineering design, review, and infrastructure project delivery.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on risk mitigation.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills across senior levels.
  • Experience managing teams and driving performance in a technical environment.
  • Local industry experience desirable, but not essential.
