Pay Rate:$42.43 per hour + super (PAYG)
Hours:
8.5 hours per day, 76 hours per fortnight
Work Structure:
9-day fortnight
About the Role
We are seeking experienced Road Workers to join Transport for NSW in Hay. This role involves performing a variety of routine and physically demanding tasks to maintain and repair road infrastructure, ensuring safety and reliability for all road users.
Key Responsibilities
- Routine Maintenance Activities:
- Attend call-outs for urgent repairs
- Road pavement repairs, including potholes and shoves
- Install and maintain guard rails, signage, and guide posts
- Traffic control duties (TC)
- Rubbish collection and site clean-up
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and machinery safely and efficiently
- Work collaboratively as part of a team under the direction of the Team Leader
- Comply with all safety standards and policies
- Assist in setting up and maintaining safe work zones for traffic management
- Perform manual handling tasks and ensure proper use of PPE
- Report hazards, incidents, and maintenance needs promptly
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in outdoor environments
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Previous experience in road maintenance or civil works (desirable)
- White Card
- WOF(Workplace On Foot)
- Current Driver’s Licence(Car essential; MR or above highly regarded)
- Traffic Control (TC) ticket (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to pass a Police Check
- PPE provided
- High likelihood of ongoing work after Christmas break
