Laboratory Operator – Rio Tinto

3‑Month Assignment | Parental Leave Cover | FIFO ex Perth Only $53–$55 per hour flat rate + super on all hours
8:6 roster | ASAP start | Days & Nights

We’re currently seeking an experienced Laboratory Operator to join Rio Tinto on a 3‑month contract covering parental leave. This role is based at West Angelas and offers an immediate start for the right candidate.
About the Role In this position, you will support site laboratory operations to ensure accurate and timely sample preparation and analysis.

Duties include:

• Crushing and milling of samples
• Operating furnaces
• General laboratory housekeeping
• Adhering to strict safety standards and site procedures

This role requires someone who is reliable, safety‑focused and committed to completing the full 3‑month assignment with no leave or holidays during the period.

What’s on Offer

• $53–$55 per hour (flat rate) + superannuation on all hours
• FIFO from Perth only
• 8:6 roster – mixture of day and night shift

Requirements To be considered, you must have:

• C Class Manual Driver’s License
• National Police Clearance
• Valid Australian working rights
• Ability to commit to the full 3‑month assignment with no interruptions
• Prior lab or sample prep experience not required but highly regarded
