Our local government client is seeking an experienced Injury Management Support Officer to join their Safety & Wellbeing function. This role plays a key part in supporting compliant, effective injury management and return to work outcomes across a diverse workforce.
About the Role
Reporting to the Safety & Wellbeing Coordinator and working closely with the Injury Management Advisor, you will:
- Lodge and manage WorkCover claims within legislative timeframes
- Support end-to-end management of work-related and non-work-related injury cases
- Prepare tailored Return to Work Plans and coordinate rehabilitation programs
- Liaise with WorkCover Agents, treatment providers and internal stakeholders
- Monitor claims costs and contribute to premium management strategies
- Maintain accurate, secure claims files and injury management data
- Prepare injury reports and statistics for internal committees and People & Culture
- Contribute to injury prevention initiatives and continuous improvement
About You
You will demonstrate:
- Experience in injury management, claims management or return to work coordination
- Sound knowledge of the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013 and Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Well-developed communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships across all levels
- High attention to detail and strong systems capability
- Professional judgement, discretion and integrity
- Experience within a WorkCover Insurance Agent environment
- Tertiary or Diploma qualification in a related discipline
- Working with Children Check
- National Police Check
