Our local government client is seeking an experienced Injury Management Support Officer to join their Safety & Wellbeing function. This role plays a key part in supporting compliant, effective injury management and return to work outcomes across a diverse workforce.

About the Role
Reporting to the Safety & Wellbeing Coordinator and working closely with the Injury Management Advisor, you will:

  • Lodge and manage WorkCover claims within legislative timeframes
  • Support end-to-end management of work-related and non-work-related injury cases
  • Prepare tailored Return to Work Plans and coordinate rehabilitation programs
  • Liaise with WorkCover Agents, treatment providers and internal stakeholders
  • Monitor claims costs and contribute to premium management strategies
  • Maintain accurate, secure claims files and injury management data
  • Prepare injury reports and statistics for internal committees and People & Culture
  • Contribute to injury prevention initiatives and continuous improvement

About You
You will demonstrate:
  • Experience in injury management, claims management or return to work coordination
  • Sound knowledge of the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013 and Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Well-developed communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships across all levels
  • High attention to detail and strong systems capability
  • Professional judgement, discretion and integrity
Desirable:
  • Experience within a WorkCover Insurance Agent environment
  • Tertiary or Diploma qualification in a related discipline
Mandatory Requirements:
  • Working with Children Check
  • National Police Check
