Join a dynamic team dedicated to transforming infrastructure asset management within the education sector. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to lead critical initiatives that enhance the management and delivery of essential educational infrastructure assets across Brisbane. Working within a forward-thinking division responsible for managing a $40 billion asset base and delivering over $1.7 billion annually in infrastructure projects, you will contribute to advancements that support the department’s strategic objectives and service excellence.


About the Role:
As an Infrastructure Asset Management Specialist, you will provide expert guidance on best practices in asset management, support business-as-usual functions, and drive key transformation initiatives. Your expertise will help ensure that infrastructure assets are managed in a comprehensive, integrated manner aligned with ISO55000 standards, guaranteeing efficient service delivery and long-term asset sustainability. Collaborating with internal teams, external stakeholders, and senior leadership, you will play a vital role in shaping and implementing asset management strategies that underpin the department’s infrastructure program.


Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver technical advice on sound asset management strategies and oversee improvement activities to optimize asset lifecycle management.
• Support the development and execution of asset management plans, ensuring they are integrated with broader operational and strategic goals.
• Lead or contribute to business transformation projects, including options analysis, project planning, resourcing, and implementation of asset management practices.
• Develop and promote asset custodianship models across all asset lifecycle phases, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and maturity.
• Collaborate with a wide network of stakeholders, including government agencies and contractors, to embed best practices and ensure asset management excellence.
• Provide strategic advice to senior decision-makers, integrating asset management insights into broader organizational and operational frameworks.


Ideal Candidate Profile:
• Demonstrates extensive experience in managing infrastructure assets within complex organizations, with a solid understanding of asset management frameworks, planning, and data standards.
• Brings proven expertise in defining asset roles, developing asset management plans, and analysing lifecycle data to inform decision-making.
• Has a track record leading or participating in business transformation or continuous improvement initiatives, particularly in environments with evolving maturity levels.
• Exhibits a proactive, detail-oriented approach with strong problem-solving skills and a passion for making a tangible impact.
• Excels in stakeholder engagement, communication, and influencing at all levels to drive change and promote best practices in asset management.
