HR Policy Officer

Location: Adelaide
Salary: ASO5–ASO6 (based on experience)
Duration: Approximately 1 month (with potential for extension)

About the Role:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced HR Policies Specialist to join their team on a short-term basis. They are looking for someone who can hit the ground running to strengthen their suite of HR policies, ensuring they are compliant, practical, and aligned with best practice in the Public Sector.
The successful candidate will bring an ER/IR lens to the role, reviewing current policies, identifying gaps, and developing new policies in key areas including WHS, Return to Work, redeployment, and more. This is a fantastic opportunity for an HR professional with a strong public sector background to make an immediate impact.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and assess current HR policy documents for gaps, compliance, and alignment with public sector standards.
• Develop and draft new HR policies, particularly in WHS, Return to Work, and redeployment.
• Provide expert advice and guidance on HR, ER, and IR matters.
• Ensure all policies reflect best practice, legislative requirements, and organisational needs.

Essential Criteria:

• Extensive experience in HR policy development and review, preferably within the Public Sector.
• Strong knowledge of ER/IR frameworks and WHS legislation.
• Proven ability to quickly assess, develop, and implement HR policies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality outcomes within tight timeframes.

Desirable:

• Previous experience in short-term HR consulting or project-based policy work.
