HR Manager – Employee Relations & Case Management | WA Government

Location: Leederville, WA
Duration: 6-Month Contract
Work Type: Full-Time | Monday to Friday

Are you an experienced HR Manager looking for an exciting opportunity to lead a dynamic team in a WA Government department? We are seeking a highly skilled HR professional to take on a 6-month full-time contract based in Leederville.
This critical role focuses on employee relations and case management, working closely with the Employee Relations Manager and collaborating across various teams to deliver compliant, best-practice solutions. If you have extensive experience in misconduct management, performance management, grievances, and fitness for work, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary escalation point for your team, overseeing the management of operational employee relations matters including misconduct, performance management, grievances, and fitness for work cases.
  • Work closely with the Employee Relations Manager(responsible for strategic employee relations) to ensure alignment on all ER-related matters.
  • Leverage industry best practices to provide practical solutions while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Manage complex employee relations and case management issues, ensuring timely, fair, and consistent resolutions.
  • Provide expert policy advice and guidance on enterprise agreements, employee relations, and compliance-related matters.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support broader HR initiatives and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
To Be Considered, You MUST Have:
  • Extensive experience in employee relations and case management(misconduct, performance management, grievances, fitness for work).
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor a team, providing guidance on complex HR matters and ensuring consistency across processes.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise agreements, HR policy, and compliance requirements within the public sector.
  • Experience working alongside strategic Employee Relations professionals to implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
