Join Our Team as a Heritage Coordinator – Champion Cultural Heritage and Field Operations
Are you passionate about preserving cultural heritage while managing complex logistics and stakeholder relationships? We are seeking a dedicated Heritage Coordinator to lead and coordinate our cultural heritage fieldwork programs, ensuring seamless operations, compliance, and collaboration. In this pivotal role, you'll be at the forefront of safeguarding heritage sites and managing logistics across Rio Tinto’s projects, supporting our Heritage Management team to deliver impactful outcomes that respect and celebrate Indigenous cultures. This is a Monday to Friday role based in Perth's CBD with the option to work two days a week from home. During peak periods, you will be expected to be more present in the office.
What You'll Bring to the Table:
- Previous expereince in logistics and or mobilisation.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with external consultants, Traditional Owner groups, and internal teams.
- Excellent project management capabilities, adept at organizing multiple activities, tracking progress, and resolving issues swiftly.
- Proven safety leadership and knowledge of HSEC standards, ensuring all activities meet rigorous safety and compliance requirements.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable narratives.
- Critical thinking with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and handle ad-hoc requests with professionalism and resilience.
- Experience managing logistics for heritage or fieldwork programs in remote or challenging environments.
- Familiarity with helicopter and drone operations, including risk assessments aligned with Rio Tinto safety standards.
- Knowledge of accommodation planning, site access assessments, and transportation logistics.
- Ability to coordinate with facilities, airport staff, and external vendors to ensure compliance with aviation and safety protocols.
- Previous expereince with any of the following: SAP, PALMS, INX, Avita, and Pegasus.
- Demonstrated experience (3+ years) in project coordination, logistics management, or mobilisation.
- Ability to travel as required to coordinate logistics and site access activities.
- Proven capacity to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment and respond rapidly to emergent stakeholder requests.
- Must have full Australian Working Rights.
