Health, Safety & Wellbeing Support Officer 

Location: Brisbane, QLD
Duration: 6-month assignment with possible extension
Hourly Rate:$59.16 + Super
Start Date: ASAP

Are you passionate about health, safety, and wellbeing? We're currently seeking a proactive and organised Health, Safety & Wellbeing (HSW) Support Officer to join a government agency undergoing realignment. This temporary AO4 role will provide critical support to the HSW team during a busy transitional period.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative and operational support to the HSW team.
  • Assist with incident investigations and hazard reports via the TABS system.
  • Offer troubleshooting and user support for HSW systems (e.g. TABS, training platforms).
  • Onboard new users to safety systems and tools.
  • Maintain registers for Health & Safety Representatives and Emergency Control Organisations.
  • Monitor compliance with mandatory HSW training and certifications.
  • Coordinate annual evacuation practices and maintain associated records.
  • Prepare reports for internal HSW meetings and committees.
  • Minute-take and coordinate Health, Safety & Wellbeing Committee meetings.
  • Assist in developing and delivering training and workshops.
  • Engage with stakeholders and depots to understand local HSW needs and improvements.
  • Support continuous improvement and service quality initiatives.

Highly Desirable:
  • Previous experience in a similar HSW or administrative support role.
  • AQF Level 4 or higher qualification in Work Health & Safety or a related discipline.

Other Requirements:
  • Willingness to travel to depot sites as required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder engagement ability.
  • Sound understanding of HSW systems and policy frameworks.
