Health & Safety Support Officer – Short-Term Contract
Location: Melbourne, VIC
Contract: Up to 3 months, ASAP start
Rate:$450 per day + super

About the Role We are partnering with a major emergency services sector within the Victorian Government to source an experienced Health & Safety Support Officer.
This role will provide critical assistance to the Senior Health & Safety Advisor during a busy period, supporting BAU tasks and key projects.
If you have strong health and safety experience and are available immediately, this is an excellent opportunity to contribute to meaningful work that impacts community safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with refreshing Health, Safety & Wellbeing (HSW) consultation procedures in collaboration with Health & Safety Representatives and Management Representatives.
• Support the oversight of Chief Warden/Warden training procurement and/or training design.
• Help develop specifications and commence procurement for an ergonomic provider to conduct on-site workstation assessments.
• Contribute to documenting an organisational HSW training needs analysis in partnership with the Workforce Capability Team.
• Provide BAU support and response work, including coverage over the Christmas and New Year period as required.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience in health and safety advisory or support roles.
• Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
• Knowledge of Victorian Government health and safety frameworks is highly desirable.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver outcomes within tight time frames.
