About the role
As the Health and Safety Officer, you will play a key role in implementing, promoting, and improving the organisation’s Safety Management System. You’ll provide professional guidance and support to employees, ensuring compliance with Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation while driving a proactive and positive safety culture across the business.

Duties
• Provide timely and professional WHS advice, guidance, and support to employees.
• Identify, develop, and deliver safety programs, toolbox talks, and information sessions.
• Conduct workplace safety inspections and audits and prepare reports with recommendations.
• Lead and support incident investigations, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Research, develop, and maintain WHS policies, procedures, and safe work method statements.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external regulatory bodies as required.
 
Skills and Experience
• Tertiary qualifications in Work Health and Safety and/or Return to Work coordination (or equivalent).
• Strong understanding of WHS legislation, systems, and risk management principles.
• Experience conducting audits, investigations, and delivering safety training or toolbox talks.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Confident using WHS and reporting systems and core office applications.
• Current NSW driver’s licence and White Card (or ability to obtain white card within 6 months).
