Health and Safety Advisor | State Government | WA

Level 5 | 6-Month Contract (Possible extension) | Immediate Start

Are you an experienced Health and Safety Advisor looking for your next opportunity within the WA State Government? We are seeking a motivated professional to join our team on a 6-month contract.

In this role, you will provide health and safety advice, support compliance with workplace health and safety legislation, and contribute to a safe working environment across the organisation. You will also apply your understanding of HR processes to support broader workforce initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert advice on workplace health and safety (WHS) practices, policies and procedures.
• Monitor and review safety systems to ensure compliance with WHS legislation and government standards.
• Assist with incident reporting, investigations, and risk management strategies.
• Support HR with safety-related workforce initiatives and compliance requirements.
• Prepare reports, documentation, and recommendations for senior stakeholders.

About You:

• Previous experience working within a government organisation in a health and safety role(essential).
• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and best practices.
• Ability to apply basic HR knowledge in relation to safety and workforce management.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Relevant qualifications in Work Health and Safety or a related field.
