Are you an experienced Health and Safety Advisor
looking for your next opportunity within the WA State Government? We are seeking a motivated professional to join our team on a 6-month contract.
In this role, you will provide health and safety advice, support compliance with workplace health and safety legislation, and contribute to a safe working environment across the organisation. You will also apply your understanding of HR processes
to support broader workforce initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice on workplace health and safety (WHS) practices, policies and procedures.
- Monitor and review safety systems to ensure compliance with WHS legislation and government standards.
- Assist with incident reporting, investigations, and risk management strategies.
- Support HR with safety-related workforce initiatives and compliance requirements.
- Prepare reports, documentation, and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
- Previous experience working within a government organisation in a health and safety role(essential).
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and best practices.
- Ability to apply basic HR knowledge in relation to safety and workforce management.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Relevant qualifications in Work Health and Safety or a related field.
- Opportunity to gain state government experience at Level 5 classification.
- 6-month contract with potential for extension.
- Competitive hourly rate.
