Senior Procurement Manager – Assets & Maintenance
Location: Melbourne/Hybrid | Salary: Up to $225K TRP

We’re partnering with a leading Victorian organisation seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Manager to oversee one of their largest and most complex portfolios – Assets & Maintenance.
Reporting into the Acting Chief Procurement Officer, this role will take the lead on major construction-based procurement activities across both civil and building projects. You’ll play a key part in driving value, compliance, and innovation across a portfolio that directly supports the organisation’s infrastructure and service delivery objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead procurement strategy and delivery across large-scale construction, building, and civil projects.
  • Provide strategic guidance on contract management and supplier engagement within the Assets & Maintenance space.
  • Manage, mentor, and empower a team of 7–8 procurement professionals, fostering a high-performing and supportive culture.
  • Navigate a dynamic environment with confidence and composure, guiding stakeholders through periods of change and ambiguity.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure procurement outcomes align with organisational goals and government frameworks.
About You You’re an experienced procurement leader who brings both technical depth and people-first leadership. You’ll ideally have:
  • Strong experience across construction-based procurement(civils, building, or both).
  • A background in Victorian Government procurement and familiarity with Ministerial Directions for Public Construction Procurement (MDPCP) – desirable but not essential.
  • Proven experience managing teams of 7–8 or more, with a leadership style that balances accountability, empathy, and emotional intelligence.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to listen, influence, and lead collaboratively.
  • Resilience and composure to lead confidently through ambiguity and change.
Why Join?
This is an opportunity to make a tangible impact in one of the organisation’s most significant portfolios, working with a values-driven team and an approachable senior leadership group. You’ll have the autonomy to shape outcomes, develop your team, and contribute to meaningful projects that support communities across Victoria.
