Our client AGL is seeking a Graduate Software Engineer to join them on a contract role in Melbourne CBD. This is a six months contract in a hybrid working environment.

🌱 About the Role
As a Graduate Software Engineer, you’ll work alongside a team of experienced developers on an innovative Virtual Power Plant (VPP) platform. From day one, you’ll contribute to meaningful projects, gain hands-on experience with modern development tools, and be supported to grow your technical and professional skills.
You’ll be involved in:
- Designing and developing software features using modern frameworks
- Writing clean, testable code and automated tests
- Participating in code reviews and DevOps practices
- Collaborating with product owners, testers, and analysts
- Learning new technologies and contributing fresh ideas
This team is pioneering the orchestration of residential and community batteries, helping stabilize the grid and deliver direct benefits to customers. Operating with the agility of a start-up and the stability of a large organisation, giving you the best of both worlds.
Built a bespoke platform that:
- Remotely controls thousands of distributed energy resources
- Integrates load flexibility (hot water, large customer loads)
- Participates in experimental trials and R&D shaping the renewable energy sector

We’re looking for someone who is:
- Recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or related field
- Experienced with coding through university, internships, or personal projects
- Passionate about technology and solving real-world problems
- A strong communicator and team player
- Curious, proactive, and eager to learn
