Mine Geologist / Geoscientist   – Grade Control | FIFO 8:6 | Iron Ore Operations  Location:  FIFO from Perth to Pilbara

Roster:  8 days on / 6 days off | 12-hour shifts
Employment Type:  Contract 
Contract Duration:  4 -6 months (with potential to extend)
Company:  Tier 1 Mining 

We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mine Geologist to support grade control and orebody understanding across operational iron ore sites. This role is ideal for someone looking to apply and grow their technical skills in a dynamic mining environment.

About the Role As a Mine Geologist, you will be responsible for collecting and analysing geological, structural, and geochemical data to delineate ore, marginal ore, and waste zones. Your work will directly support grade control and operational decision-making in open-pit mining environments.
Key Responsibilities

  • Logging and mapping of blast cones and geological features
  • QAQC of grade control sampling, data entry, and laboratory performance
  • Conducting dig face and stockpile inspections to ensure compliance
  • Preparing and distributing grade control reports and blockouts
  • Supporting reconciliation reporting through data compilation and interpretation
  • Ensuring alignment with internal standards for resources and reserves
Candidate Requirements  Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology or a related discipline
Experience:
  • 1–2 years’ experience in mining geology, ideally within open-pit  (iron ore )  ( 'must have' ) 
  • Exposure to exploration or resource drilling is advantageous
Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in  Vulcan  and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exposure to Acquire and SQL scripting is preferred
Soft Skills:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Roster Options
  • Primary:  FIFO 8:6 roster from Perth to Pilbara sites
  • Alternative:  Limited Perth-based roles available for highly experienced candidates on a 5:2 roster
