Our client is seeking a skilled Financial Accountant to join their Finance & Business Performance division. This role is integral to ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards.
About the Role
The Financial Accountant will assist in the timely preparation of monthly consolidated reports for management and support statutory and external reporting requirements. You will play a key role in maintaining the general ledger, preparing financial statements, and managing lease accounting obligations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain general ledger and financial systems to ensure accurate financial information
- Prepare monthly financial reports for management and the Board
- Assist with early close and annual statutory financial statements
- Support preparation of forecasts and annual budgets
- Administer credit card processes and policies
- Manage leases for accounting purposes
- Provide support for fixed asset and project accounting
- Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards
- Review and improve financial processes and procedures
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce, Business/Economics or related discipline
- Completed or commenced CPA or CA studies
- Strong financial accounting experience
- Knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage changing priorities and meet deadlines
- Team-oriented with high self-motivation
- Experience in accounting for leases under AASB16
- Criminal background check required
