Join a leading Queensland local government organisation committed to delivering high‑quality services and continuous improvement. We’re seeking an experienced Finance Officer to support core financial operations, maintain accurate cash management, and partner with stakeholders across the organisation.

In this role, you’ll contribute to a high‑performing finance function by delivering timely reconciliations, managing daily cash requirements, supporting financial reporting, and ensuring exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accuracy of cash balances and complete daily/monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare daily cash forecasts and arrange inter‑account transfers.
  • Load and authorise EFT payments for payroll and accounts payable.
  • Support the Financial Reporting team to meet deadlines and deliverables.
  • Perform monthly general ledger reconciliations.
  • Investigate finance enquiries, resolve issues, and provide professional stakeholder support.
  • Prepare journals, reports, and documentation as required.
  • Provide relief support to other Finance Officers as needed.

About You
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Finance Officer role.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and customer‑service capability.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; ability to learn finance systems quickly.
  • Excellent communication, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Certificate IV in Business or progress toward a business‑related degree.
  • Ability to work across multiple sites as required; QLD C‑Class licence.
  • National Police Check (or ability to obtain).
