Telecommunications Field Technician - 12-Month Contract  

Chandler Macleod | North Sydney

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a global leader in telecommunications technology as a Telecommunications Field Technician. We are seeking a motivated and experienced individual for a 12-month contract role based in North Sydney, with the potential for extension.

This is your chance to work at the forefront of mobile network infrastructure, ensuring the seamless operation and performance of critical systems.

About Your New Role  

As a Field Technician, you will be a key member of the Field Operations team, responsible for servicing and maintaining customer mobile network infrastructure. You will independently perform a range of technical activities, including reactive, corrective, and preventative maintenance, as well as supporting network upgrades.

Key Responsibilities  

  • Maintain and service critical telecom infrastructure (both Fixed & Mobile) within your designated area.

  • Report on field operations and ensure network performance meets strict SLA/CSL targets.

  • Support network acceptance processes, conduct outage investigations, and handle escalated operational issues.

  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams, subcontractors, and third-party vendors.

  • Participate in after-hours activities and take on higher-level responsibilities as required.

  • Lead work activities and special assignments to resolve complex network issues.

What You'll Bring  

We are looking for a proactive problem-solver with a strong technical background and a "Customer First" attitude.


Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum Trade or Certificate III in Electronics, Communications, Electro Technology, Computing, or an equivalent field.

  • Over 2 years of hands-on experience in mobile network field maintenance, integration, commissioning, or configuration.

  • Strong knowledge of Network Operations Management, including Fault and Configuration Management.

  • Advanced skills in fault investigation and rectification.

  • Excellent communication, reporting, and leadership abilities.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.

Experience in the deployment of mobile equipment will be highly regarded.
