Field Operations Technician

Our client, a leading organisation in the telecommunications and infrastructure sector, is seeking a Field Operations Technician to join their team.

This full-time contract role offers the chance to work in a hands-on capacity, supporting the maintenance and optimisation of wireless networks and site infrastructure across the region. The position provides exposure to diverse telecom and non-telecom systems and plays a key role in ensuring reliable network operations.


Key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Performing preventive and corrective maintenance on telecommunications equipment including antennas, feeders, rectifiers, batteries, and emergency generators
• Supporting site infrastructure works such as temporary repairs to fencing, site access obstructions, and grounding systems
• Carrying out network optimisation activities and assisting planning engineers with field operations
• Managing diesel generators, including ordering fuel, recording operating hours, and connecting temporary units to sites when required
• Testing and repairing site alarms, AC systems, lighting, and other site support components
• Maintaining site folders, reporting on issues, and providing data to the Network Operations Centre
• Coordinating spare part logistics including shipping, receiving, and storage in line with process requirements

What we’re looking for:

• Rigging qualifications with demonstrated experience in wireless/radio fault rectification
• Strong technical knowledge in DC and RF equipment fault-finding
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in field-based environments
• Computer literacy and the ability to maintain accurate reporting and documentation
• Flexibility, adaptability, and reliability to respond to operational demands
• Previous experience in telecom maintenance or infrastructure support will be highly regarded
