Estimator - Quantity Surveying
Location:  Melbourne CBD/Hybrid 
Contract Type:  3-6 month casual, full time hours
Pay Rate:  $55 - $65p/h +super (based on experience level)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator / Cost Management Specialist to support one of Victoria's key rail sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead stakeholder workshops to gather inputs and information
  • Coordinate tasks and monitor progress across team members
  • Prepare outputs, e.g., estimates, reports, benchmarking and provide insights
  • Develop and maintain templates, procedures, and tools to support workflows
  • Facilitate processes, Resource Allocation Planning and ensure compliance
  • Review and analyse changes, variations, and project data
  • Contribute to strategy, planning, and continuous improvement initiatives
About You / Selection Criteria
  • Subject matter expertise for Estimating, Quantity Surveying, Project proposals and implementation methodologies.
  • Bachelor Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or Engineering related disciplines. 
  • Achievement of Chartered status with Associate Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (AAIQS) or Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or an equivalent recognised body is highly desirable.
  • Minimum 5+ years cost management experience, preferably in a private practice or construction organisation. Rail experience highly considered. 
  • Strong technical grounding in all of the main areas of Cost Management / Quantity Surveying incorporating a good working knowledge of cost management / quantity surveying concepts, tools and techniques.
  • Knowledge of the main procurement methods and their application with respect to the “tactical procurement” of small to large sized projects.
  • Knowledge and understanding of value engineering.
