About the Role
We’re seeking a Regional SHES Specialist – Environment to oversee environmental programs across the region. The role focuses on managing compliance reporting (including site Annual Returns), environmental reporting, incident management, and regional procedural reviews. You’ll also provide ad hoc support during EPA engagements or incidents, ensuring environmental standards are maintained and improved. 

This is a contract role until mid-May 2026, and can be based in Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, or Newcastle offices, with remote work considered as well.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage compliance reporting such as site Annual Returns and incident reporting within internal systems.
  • Develop, review, and improve regional environmental procedures and processes.
  • Support environmental incident investigations and EPA engagements as needed.
  • Conduct regional reviews and assurance activities to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain strong relationships with regulators and internal stakeholders, providing expert advice.

About You
We’re after a proactive environment professional with a solid background in compliance and incident management, ideally within hazardous or heavy industry settings. Your skills should include excellent communication, strong organisational abilities, and experience with environmental reporting and regulatory liaison.


What We’re Looking For:
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in environmental or occupational hygiene roles, preferably in heavy industry or manufacturing.
  • Formal qualifications in Environmental Science or Engineering at Bachelor's level.
  • Proven ability to manage compliance reports and environmental data systems.
  • Experience supporting incident investigations and engaging with regulators.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
