Engineering Manager

Location: Fremantle, Western Australia
Contract Type: 18-month contract (with strong potential for extension)

Work Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

A government agency in Fremantle is seeking a qualified and experienced Engineering Manager to lead the technical delivery of a large-scale infrastructure project. This is a senior client-side engineering role responsible for ensuring quality, compliance, and performance across all technical aspects of a complex, multi-disciplinary program.
This role suits someone with strong experience in project engineering, front-end engineering design (FEED), and ideally, a background in materials handling or port infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic technical leadership during design and delivery phases.
• Review and assess engineering designs and documentation from external consultants.
• Ensure all work meets Australian engineering standards and internal requirements.
• Develop technical reports, cost estimates, specifications, and input into tenders.
• Lead engineering reviews and coordinate feedback across disciplines.
• Manage internal engineering resources as project demands increase.
• Support procurement activities by engaging with industry suppliers.

Key Requirements:

• Degree in Engineering (civil, mechanical, or related discipline).
• 10+ years of engineering experience in project delivery environments.
• Experience in materials handling infrastructure(port facility experience highly regarded).
• Strong knowledge of FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) processes.
• Proven leadership of multi-disciplinary engineering teams on large projects.
