We’re partnering with a leading Victorian Government department to recruit an experienced Engagement Manager
to lead the development and delivery of best-practice community engagement strategies supporting residential and business customers impacted by the closure of compressed natural gas (CNG) networks across ten Victorian towns.
This is a pivotal short-term opportunity for a skilled engagement professional who’s passionate about supporting communities through energy transition and infrastructure change.
About the Role
The Engagement Manager
will design and implement tailored engagement strategies to ensure affected customers receive timely, transparent, and empathetic support throughout the network decommissioning process.
Working closely with partners across multiple government energy entities and key external stakeholders, this role will play a critical part in ensuring clear communication, coordinated delivery, and positive outcomes for communities impacted by the change.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engagement and communication strategies to support customers and businesses impacted by the closure of CNG networks.
- Partner with key stakeholders across government, energy providers, and local communities to ensure consistent messaging and aligned objectives.
- Provide leadership and guidance on best-practice engagement approaches that foster trust, transparency, and collaboration.
- Monitor community sentiment, manage issues proactively, and provide advice to inform decision-making.
- Ensure all engagement activities align with government policies, regulatory requirements, and community expectations.

- Demonstrated experience developing and delivering engagement strategies for complex or high-impact projects.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
- Strong judgement and problem-solving abilities, particularly in sensitive or transitional environments.
