Senior Employee Relations Advisor

 

📍 Alexandria, Sydney | 🕒 Contract until August (with potential extension) | 🏠 Hybrid working

 

Chandler Macleod is partnering with a leading organisation in the fuel and energy sector to recruit a  Senior Employee Relations Advisor. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced ER professional to join a collaborative and high-performing team managing complex and meaningful work.

 

About the Role:

 

You’ll be part of a team that manages complex ER cases across business areas such as Aviation, Refinery, Terminals, and Corporate. Your focus will be on providing expert ER advice and case management support to business leaders and HR partners, including:

 

• End-to-end case management of complex employee matters (e.g. performance, disciplinary, grievances, investigations)
• Interpretation and application of industrial instruments (Awards & Enterprise Agreements)
• Supporting return-to-work processes and workplace investigations
• Advising on compliance, IR issues, and stakeholder engagement
• Contributing to ER projects and continuous improvement initiatives

 

This is a hybrid role based in  Alexandria, Sydney, with a couple of days a week working from home. You’ll be working with a team that values expertise, pragmatism, and collaboration.

 

About You:

 

You’re an experienced ER professional with:

• A degree in Law, HR, or equivalent experience (4+ years in HR/ER)
• Strong technical knowledge of Australian employment legislation, NES, Awards, and EAs
• Proven experience handling complex ER cases and investigations
• Excellent stakeholder management skills
• Experience in unionised or blue-collar environments (ideal)

Enterprise bargaining experience is a plus, though not essential.

• Start: ASAP
• End: August 2025 (initially until August with a potential extension)
• Location: Alexandria, Sydney
• Work Model: Hybrid (2–3 days in the office)
