Our client is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join their Rollingstock team for a 6 month engagement. This role offers the opportunity to work on critical projects that keep Perth’s passenger rail services safe, efficient, and reliable.

About the Role

You will be responsible for providing specialist electrical engineering expertise for the maintenance, modification, and performance optimisation of the rollingstock fleet. Working closely with operations and maintenance teams, you will contribute to project delivery, fault investigation, and the continuous improvement of electrical systems across teh train systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct electrical engineering design, analysis, and technical reviews for rollingstock systems.
  • Investigate and resolve faults, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Prepare technical documentation, specifications, and reports.
  • Provide engineering support for modifications, upgrades, and maintenance activities.
  • Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with PTA standards and safety requirements.
About You
  • Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in rollingstock, rail, or heavy industrial electrical systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
