Chandler Macleod is seeking EL1 Senior Technical Drawing Officers to join a Federal Government client in Canberra. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role within a specialised technical team supporting critical infrastructure, security and ICT projects.
This position is onsite, 5 days per week, and requires an active NV2 security clearance. This is a 12 month full time temporary opportunity with potential for a further 12 month extension
As an EL1 Senior Technical Drawing Officer, you will lead a small team responsible for managing the organisation’s holdings and databases of floor plans, construction drawings, ICT layouts and security drawings. These collections are maintained using AutoCAD within a classified environment.
The role also involves operation and maintenance of large-format printing systems to support executive presentations, project artefacts and technical storyboards.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Lead the management and maintenance of detailed drawings and technical databases.
- Review and assess design documentation for completeness, compliance, constructability and standards alignment.
- Provide expert technical and strategic advice to internal stakeholders.
- Manage a pipeline of external design consultancy services, ensuring resources align with demand and project needs.
- Work collaboratively with subject matter experts across engineering, ICT, facilities and security disciplines.
- High‑level proficiency and extensive experience with AutoCAD.
- Ability to interpret complex communications drawings, mark‑ups and architectural plans.
- Ability to convert photographs into accurate technical drawings.
- NV2 clearance
- Ability to work 5 days on site
