EL1 / APS6 - Financial Management - S26 transfer

Chandler Macleod is seeking a talented and experienced financial professional for an EL1 / APS6 Financial Management s26 transfer opportunity within a leading government agency. This is an excellent opportunity to utilize your expertise in financial reporting, compliance, and operational management to support an organization committed to public service excellence.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong skills in financial analysis, statutory reporting, and managing comprehensive financial statements for entire agencies. Your ability to interpret legislative frameworks, coordinate with auditors, and advise on financial strategy will be vital. Experience in full agency-wide financial statement preparation, audit liaison, and familiarity with government financial policies are highly desirable.

This role is open to candidates based in Sydney, NSW / ACT / Melbourne, VIC

Required Skills:

• Extensive experience in statutory financial reporting and compliance
• Deep understanding of government accounting standards and policies
• Proven leadership and team management skills
• Strong analytical abilities with attention to detail
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication capabilities

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience with audit processes and risk management practices
• Knowledge of procurement processes and taxation reporting
• Familiarity with Commonwealth Financial Reporting Rules and PGPA Act

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or related fields
• Several years of professional experience in government or equivalent settings, particularly in full financial statement preparation and audit coordination
